Who are the UNSW Killer Whales?

The UNSW Killer Whales are one of the most successful clubs that compete in the Sydney Metropolitan Competition, as well as National Competitions.

Boasting a range of ladies teams, and mens teams, (including juniors) we are one of the largest water polo clubs in the Southern Hemisphere. We have enjoyed success at both junior and senior level.

We also run and supervise, at our UNSW pool, successful Schoolboys and Schoolgirls competitions, during the first and fourth school terms each year. All schools are welcome to participate, for details see the 'Schools Comp.' page on this website. We have children participating from around age ten yrs of age upwards ie. primary School through to Year 12 at High School.

We compete in domestic, Australian national and international competitions. We welcome overseas and local players who may wish to train/play with us.... There is no requirement to be a university student to train or play with our club, (though many of them do) all are welcome!

Training

The Killer Whales train at two locations, both of which are within easy reach of Sydney's cbd, eastern suburbs and beaches.

UNSW Pool: This is our 'home ground' and is located at the cnr. of High St and Anzac Pde Kensington ph 9385 4881
(50 metre indoor heated pool with gymnasium)

South Sydney Corporate Park: This is our training pool. Located at No. 126 - 196 Bourke Rd, Alexandria ph 9353 0014
(25 metre indoor heated pool with gymnasium)

Training Times:

Men: Monday nights 7 - 9pm

Women: Thursday nights 6.30 - 9pm

Game Times:

Men:
Summer Comp - M3 play Saturday afternoons, M5 and M6 play Tuesday night and LJ and LSJ play Wednesday nights.
Winter Comp - M3 play Wednesday nights, M5, M6 and LSJ play Tuesday nights.

Women:
Summer Comp - L1 and L2 play Saturday afternoon and L3, L4, LJ and LSJ play Sunday afternoon.
Winter Comp - All grades play on Sunday afternoon
